Emily Dickinson's poem vividly mirrors the journey of women's growth: No matter how many hardships they encounter in their development or constraints they face

they will eventually break free from their "cocoons" and transform into colorful butterflies radiating "light". In this issue of "Light People"

Professor Siying Peng is invited to share how the optical properties of butterfly wings have inspired her metamorphosis in the field of photonics.
